Annette is a painter and the mother of two young children. She has found journaling a creative outlet that has helped her sort out her own needs as a creative artist and thinker.

Reflections by Annette

“My house is empty of guests and I am releaved — not quite sure if I should lay back or do. I am so sick of the domestics — the cleaning, picking up toys, doing laundry. Certainly I have more to give the world than this. I need a plan I can stick to. Need to be in my studio consistently. I also need some time out of this house away from the children. Be with adults. Need a plan.
..........The baby wakes and just like that my alone time is no longer mine.
I worked in my studio yesterday. It’s more a search than actually working. My time there is often interrupted and since the house has been full of guests lately, I have not been in my studio at all. The bottom line is I feel so minuet, so boring. Life is more then being social. And being productive in my studio isn’t enough. It’s an on going process that needs lots of time thinking and scribbling and reading and observing. Being in touch with Life. I feel so completely removed from my own energy. Moments of silence. I am an artist whose tools have been misplaces. I know they are in the house somewhere, but I just can’t seem to find them.”
