Creativity comes in many forms and for many of us gardening is our primary creative outlet. The spring workshop, mosaic pots, is an exercise that celebrates natures numerous gifts at this time of the year. Our anticipation for filling and placing these pots in just the right spot gives us new creative energy and bright ideas, which is also great food for both the mind and spirit.

Gathering mosaic pieces is half the fun of this project. Small tiles, jewelry, broken dishes and ceramic knick knacks, beads, and broken mirror are some ideas for your mosaic pieces. Try mixing them together for a collage effect or create a color scheme. By doing this project as a group you can share ideas, help one another resolve problems and share costs of some of the basic supplies. Some mother i circles may even want to pool mosaic pieces together. Come prepared with your materials ready so that you use your circle time to complete your pot. Make certain, too, that the place where you hold your meeting has water and electricity.

After you have selected your pot and mosaic pieces use a hot-glue gun to adhere the mosaic pieces to your pot. Apply the grout with a sponge or scraper after all the pieces are securely attached. Smooth away holes and lumps. Clean grout off of mosaic pieces with cheese cloth.
