| It requires a lot of time and organizing to create and then maintain a sister i circle. It is recommended that two or more women share the responsibilities of starting a sister i circle. Once the circle is running, lthe circle leader facilitates the meetings. Initially the starters of the group take on the role of circle leader. When the circle is established and as the seasons progress, you may wish to rotate the circle leader, allowing the group to be facilitated by all the women in the circle. Alternating leaders seasonally will help build group cohesiveness and commitment. Responsibilities are listed below. starters understanding the sister i community getting interested women together to start a sister i circle organizing a place to meet informing women of the sister i and how they can acquire the materials needed (seasons guide) personalized circle journal (this can be delegated to another member in the circle) setting the agenda for the meeting (a time table may be helpful) making sure the circle stays focused keeping an eye on the clock collecting donations for materials keeping the sister i circle journal (if another memeber has it, then she is responsible for returning it to the next meeting) scheduling food/beverage responsibilities (optional) maintaining the tool box and bringing it to the necessary meetings (optional) bringing a candle (optional) obtaining and bringing the sister i seasons guide and calendar to each meeting bringing materials/supplies for jewel box projects being punctual calling another member if they are going to be late or miss a meeting bringing personal journals providing center piece items (optional) a. guidelines sister i circle principles and practices |
